Your Acton BID Yearly achievements 2024
Another year done and dusted! In the last year, a lot has been done to accomplish various projects and initiatives… old and new ones! It has been an exciting year and if we may, we would love to take this time to look back over some of our achievements that conquered 2024.
Launched
- 3 Your Acton’s Makers Market in July, September and December to support local independent artisans and sustainable businesses.
- A new Website page for What’s On: A hub for all things Acton where you can list your business, event or promotion for free with just a tag!
- For the first time, we printed and posted 55,000 Christmas Guides prompting 48 BID businesses.
Hosted:
- 10 Business Breakfast Networking events.
- The South Acton Industrial Estate Clean Up day for a second year.
- Hosted our first Customer Service Awards ceremony for businesses that participated in the Mystery Shopper initiative.
Installed:
- Install 4 Christmas light installations.
- New bin vinyl in partnership with LAGER Can to provide awareness and reduce fly tipping near bins along our retail areas.
Supported:
- Sponsored the Acton Carnival.
- Help businesses with pavement licence application and Re-rating applications for Food Hygiene.
On going projects:
- Insight 6 Mystery Shopper for a second year with 40 participating businesses.
- Our quarterly cleans where we removed businesses shop front stickers, jet washed the bins and removed major stains on the footpaths to help with the aesthetics of our retail areas and Town Centre. We have also cleared overgrown vegetation in the South Acton estate.
- Offered free training courses (in person and online) and various workshops:
- Wellbeing workshops
- Conflict management workshops
- An Introduction to Social Media for Business
- Continued our successful security team with My Local Bobby for over 2 years.
- Continuing our successful Easter Bunny Trail after 3 years! And it is growing every year with more participants.
This is all in a nutshell and there are way more! We are looking forward to continuing these projects for 2025 and bringing new initiatives. If you have any questions or would need any further information on these above projects, please contact Natasha.
