Your Acton BID is working with local BID business Global Skills to provide FREE accredited training courses for BID members. The training is now available online through eLearning for credited courses of Food Safety Awareness, Fire Safety Principals and Health & Safety in the Workplace. Food Safety Awareness

Are you looking to complete a food safety course online? This course will give you the knowledge you need to understand the key aspects of food safety and will increase your awareness of the risks and diverse health issues relating to food safety. Available now

 

Fire Safety Principles

Are you interested in studying one of our CPD accredited courses? This short, auto-marked programme will give you the knowledge you need to understand fire hazards and risks and how to effectively identify and control any hazards. Available now

 

Health & Safety at work

In the Health and Safety in the Workplace course, you will learn about the roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare at work, to assess and identify risks as well as responding to accidents and incidents at work. Available now

 

In person courses available starting in January:

Emergency First Aid at Work

This one-day certificated course is for employees who are required to be an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace.  Learner will attain knowledge and the practical competence required to deal with a range of workplace first aid situations, including; adult resuscitation (CPR), burns and scalds, minor and severe bleeding, seizers, and the role of the first aider. Date: 12th January 2022

 

Mental Health First Aid 

This 6-hour qualification provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. Date: 19th January 2022

 

Mental Health First Aid for Managers

This one-day course is to help managers understand more about mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and suicide. It will help them to be more confident in recognising the signs of mental health and engage with team members and colleagues to help signpost further help and support. Date: 26th January 2022
