After a few successful business networking events since January, we have decided to host a series of breakfast networking every 6 weeks this year.

Your Acton BID will be hosting the next upcoming breakfast networking on June 9^th at 8:30 am, in collaboration with the West London Chamber of Commerce, at the George & Dragon Pub. Tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be available during the networking.

We have been working with Place Support Partnership (PSP) by offering all businesses within the BID area free sessions with cost-saving experts. PSP helps reduce business costs by reviewing your bills and identifying where savings can be made. It is a free service to all Your Acton BID members.

Your Acton BID with the Met Police organise the PubWatch and ShopWatch security meetings for the local pubs and businesses in Acton. This partnership increases communication within the pubs and businesses to pre-empt crime and anti-social behaviour in their premises.

• Next ShopWatch meeting: May 26th 2023, at 11am (every last Friday of the month) at the ActOne Cinema, High Street, W3 6NA.
• Next PubWatch meeting: June 29th 2023, at 11 am – Location TBC (Last Thursday on every second month)

A big welcome to Acton, Chai Spot located at 249 High Street (W3 9BY). The new kid on the block, serving delicious Indian street food, all day breakfast, sandwiches, fresh smoothies and of course, coffee and chai tea!

Last year, Acton has been chosen as the location of the first banking hub in London! The Hub will be located inside the Oaks Shopping Centre and is set to open this June! It is hoped it will transform both the High Street and The Oaks shopping centre.

Community bankers will work on rotation, with a different provider available on each day of the week which includes Barclays, Lloyds, NatWest, Santander and Nationwide.

For the months of April, the Acton BID reported various issues such as:

• Over 29 issues of fly tipping incidents.
• 19 counts of graffiti on business shop fronts and street furniture.
• 3 other types of incidents, including streets not clean, pavement issues and abandoned bicycles.

My Local Bobby team has attended various incidents which includes:

• 15 incidents related to beggars.
• 14 incidents related to Antisocial behaviours (i.e., street drinking, noise disturbance, etc.).
• 30 incidents related to crime (i.e., shoplifting, theft).

We have also continued to host our breakfast networking event on April 28^th at the George and Dragon Pub. We had a successful Easter Bunny Trail with over 300 scans and 126 participated with one lucky winner of the Easter hamper! The beautiful weather during Easter break did help to find the bunnies hidden in the businesses around Acton.
