South Acton clean up day recap

On Thursday 3rd August, South Acton businesses came together in making the industrial estate a little cleaner and brighter! We wanted to thank you all for helping us litter pick, sweep up the area and maintain our flower beds.

Working away on the South Acton Walkway Project, we’ve added:

  • More trees
  • More benches
  • Started to build a picket fence to reduce rubbish getting into the beds (work in progress!)
  • Water tank to recycle rainwater
  • A shed to house some equipment

A real community effort, we’re proud as punch! Massive thank you to everyone that joined the clean-up event, to Cultivate London for their gardening skills, Ecofleet and Diagnostics 360 for building the fence, the team at Greener Ealing, volunteers from Lager Can and Pai Skincare for helping litter pick and to The Little Mobile Coffee Co for the coffee!

Your Acton BID monthly achievements: July

For the months of July, the Acton BID reported various issues such as:

  • Over 32 issues of fly tipping incidents.
  • 9 counts of graffiti on business shop fronts and street furniture.
  • 3 other types of incidents, including streets not clean, pavement issues and abandoned bicycles.

During the month of July, The Acton BID continued to participate in the South Acton Industrial master plan workshop provided by the council to make sure the feedback and concerns were raised by the businesses and property owners. We also had our breakfast networking event and hosted the High Street Task Force at the ActOne Cinema. We have also increased the amount of security radios to more businesses along the High Street and Churchfield Road. The radios allow retailers to be in instant communication with each other to proactively reduce and manage crime, such as anti-social behaviour and shoplifting.

For more information on the various incidents that we reported and projects, please contact Veronique.
