The town is sparkling and twinkling with Christmas lights, and we’re proud as punch that we’ve been able to make it happen!

NOW it feels like Christmas!!  What do you think of the lights?

In February 2023, we will be holding a ballot of businesses on the proposed renewal of the Your Acton BID. This month, businesses and property owners will receive a letter from the Ealing Council to prepare the list of all entitled person to vote.

Once you receive this letter, it is important to verify that the information for the current voter are correct. If they need to be updated, you will need to do so before January 19^th, 2023. Please look out for the letter and all the information will be provided if you need to amend the voter’s details.

Save the date as Your Acton BID will be hosting a breakfast networking event on January 27^th 2023, in collaboration with the West London Chamber of Commerce. This will be a great opportunity to network with local BID businesses. Stay tuned for more information or email Natasha if you have any questions.

For the month of November, the Acton BID reported various issues such as:

• Over 25 issues of fly tipping incidents
• 10 counts of graffiti on business shop fronts and street furniture
• 10 other types of incidents, including streets not clean, pavement issues and abandoned bicycles.

My Local Bobby team has attended various incidents which includes:

• 17 incidents related to beggars
• 33 incidents related to Antisocial behaviours (i.e., street drinking, noise disturbance, etc.)
• 19 incidents related to crime (i.e., shoplifting, theft)

This year’s Christmas lights on the High Street, Churchfield Road and the Vale were brought to you by Your Acton BID. We have switch on the lights on November 25^th during our Christmas event to increase footfall and encourage to shop local. We have also started the works to relandscape and revamp the main roundabout in the Town Centre (injunction to Uxbridge Road, Steyne Road and High Street).

In November, a consultation opened on Ealing Council’s draft Local Plan. This sets out how life across all of our seven towns might develop over the next 15 years – from climate and transport to regeneration and homes, and many more things. Find out how to get involved as a business or resident.

The council’s Skills & Employment team offer free support for local businesses with recruitment.

The Work Ealing website has information about support available for employers, including:

• Posting job opportunities
• Training and Apprenticeships options
• Generating responses from people living in Ealing
• Business Rates discount for businesses that become London Living Wage employers

Find 10 reindeers to win a hot chocolate cone (while stocks last, so be quick), find all 25 reindeers to be entered into a draw to win a hamper full of treats! Please note that shops hours may change during the Christmas break and New Year.

Our high street quirky independents and marvellous online retails who are based in South Acton and Acton Park industrial estate will satisfy the most discerning of divas. So, there’s no excuses – breath in the Christmas spirit and enjoy, shop local in Your Acton!

Have you seen the works on the Acton main roundabout these past few weeks?

Back in March you voted on 3 designs for the installation on Acton Roundabout. Finally, we have started the installation of the final product. Big thanks to our local BID business 3D Eye for making this amazing structure. They created the design of the structure that articulated the background of Acton's history: the Oak Tree. Cultivate London will be planting a beautiful ring of lavender surrounding the roundabout to add a bit of greenery.

Make sure you make your way to the roundabout and check it out! And plus, it is lit up in the evening and reflects on the tree. 

The ward priority survey is now open! The results will be discussed at the next ward panel in mid-January, and will be used to set the ward priorities, and will help shape the way we police the ward. We would be grateful if you could spare 5 minutes of your time to complete the survey
