The Acton BID has a mandate to make the area a cleaner and safer place to do business and to ensure it is more welcoming for visitors.

To do so, we continuously report various issues to make sure it is graffiti free and that fly tipping incidents are removed promptly. We have also hired My Local Bobby team that will ensure that the area is safer by working with businesses to increase safety, prevent crime and reduce anti-social behaviours.

For the month of October, the Acton BID reported various issues such as:

• Over 45 issues of fly tipping incidents
• 17 counts of graffiti on business shop fronts and street furniture
• 10 other types of incidents, including streets not clean, pavement issues and abandoned bicycles.

My Local Bobby team has attended various incidents which includes:

• 26 incidents related to beggars
• 43 incidents related to Antisocial behaviours (i.e., street drinking, noise disturbance, etc.)
• 25 incidents related to crime (i.e., shoplifting, theft)
• 4 incidents related to drugs (i.e., drug dealing, drug taking).

Your Acton BID with the Met Police organise the PubWatch and ShopWatch security meetings for the local pubs and businesses in Acton. This partnership increases communication within the pubs and businesses to pre-empt crime and anti-social behaviour in their premises.

• Next PubWatch meeting: November 24th 2022, at 11 am at the Chatsworth Pub, 290 High Street, (W3 9BJ).
• Next ShopWatch meeting: November 30th 2022, at 11am  at the ActOne Cinema, High Street (W3 6NA).

W3 are community are pleased to announce that they will be working with Housing For Women who manage two local domestic violence refuge units to ensure their families enjoy Christmas this year! They are trying to rally the troops in Acton to help deliver their Festive 2022 hamper project.

They will be distributing;

1. Gifts for mum:  Scented gift sets, candles, scarfs, etc. 
2. Gifts per child: There are children of a vast age range so toys for babies up to the age of 16 would be amazing. If you would like specific toy ideas we would be happy to send a suggested wish list.
3. Family festive food hampers: Crackers, tins of custard/rice pudding, hot chocolate, vegetarian marshmallows, mince pies, dates/dried fruit (no nuts) etc

If your business would like to participate in the festive hamper project you can do this by donating any items listed above or by donating a sum which will be used to purchase items such as the above and/or hampers, wrapping paper, gift bags etc.  The deadline to contribute is the 15^th December.

Donate to City Harvest from 12 noon 29th November to 6th December to double your donation and the impact you can have on London's children facing food poverty. 

How does this work? For 7 days, starting at 12 noon on Tuesday 29th November, the Big Give Christmas Challenge gives City Harvest supporters the opportunity to double their donation and impact. £10 becomes £20, which can provide 80 healthy meals to London children!
