Your Acton BID is working with Aid Training to provide FREE accredited training courses for BID members in October 2022. The training are now available for accredited courses of Fire Marshall, Emergency First Aid, Health and Safety in the Workplace, Level 2 First Aid in Mental Health and Level 2 Food Hygiene. Have you noticed Ayoub and Hamza, the My Local Bobby (MLB) team, patrolling our BID area?

Your Acton BID have partnered up with My Local Bobby to provide 2 visible wardens on the street for 3 days a week. Look out for their high-vis vest! They can be called on to assist with shoplifting and ASB incidents. If you have any issues and would need support, they can be contacted while they are on patrol at 07494 777 055.

We have been working with Place Support Partnership (PSP) by offering free sessions with cost-saving experts to help reduce business costs by reviewing your bills and identify where savings can be made.

The PSP team are available to provide clarity and support to businesses trying to navigate the current energy landscape.

Your Acton BID with the Met Police organise the PubWatch and ShopWatch security meetings for the local pubs and businesses in Acton. This partnership increases communication within the pubs and businesses to pre-empt crime and anti-social behaviour in their premises.

Adapt and navigate the rising cost of doing business with the help of the London Business Hub. Delivered by the London Enterprise Partnership for London, the London Business Hub has published a series of practical guides on the steps you can take to protect your business, avoid cash flow problems, and manage business finances.

It has also brought together a range of helpful, practical resources to support you in the coming months.

This year’s Living Wage rates have been brought forward in recognition of the sharp increase in living costs over the past year. The new Living Wage rate in London is £11.95 an hour.

Would you like to become an Living Wage Employer? Businesses who pay their staff the London Living Wage as a minimum, can apply to Ealing Council to get a one-off payment - equivalent to two years of Living Wage accreditation fees. 

We want to hear from you! This business survey has been created to receive feedback from the Acton BID Levy Paying businesses. We want to take this opportunity to ask you a few questions about what kind of projects or support you would like to receive from the Acton BID.

We greatly appreciate your feedback and encourage all businesses to take an active interest in determining priorities and planning projects to meet the aims of the BID plans. Responses will feed into our Business Plan for 2023-2028, which will aim to invest in Acton for the next 5 years, ahead of a renewal ballot in February 2023.

This year, Your Acton BID has entered London in Bloom as we are working on improving our local environment. London in Bloom is about celebrating and recognising the passion Londoners have for greening our Capital city. We are proud to announce that we were awarded Silver!

It is not all about being judged for our hanging baskets, planters, and the flower beds, but also working with community groups such as Cultivate London and Rewilding Acton. Volunteers have helped us maintain the flower beds in the South Acton estate as well as plant new flowers in the bike planters in front of Arch Climbing Wall and beside the Windmill Pub on High Street. We would like to thank all the volunteers, community groups and our businesses that has help us make Acton a brighter place.

Watch out, as next year we are aiming for GOLD!!!

On Saturday 1st October the first Reduce and Recycle Hub arrived at MarketW3 in Acton, during The Great Big Green Week. They have some great organisations coming along involved in recycling, upcycling and reducing waste. They also have their great regular traders and ethnic food stalls.
