We want to hear from you! This business survey has been created to receive feedback from the Acton BID Levy Paying businesses. We want to take this opportunity to ask you a few questions about what kind of projects or support you would like to receive from the Acton BID.

We greatly appreciate your feedback and encourage all businesses to take an active interest in determining priorities and planning projects to meet the aims of the BID plans. Responses will feed into our Business Plan for 2023-2028, which will aim to invest in Acton for the next 5 years, ahead of a renewal ballot in February 2023.

Meet Your Acton BID Bobbies, Ayoub and Hamza!

Your Acton BID have partnered up with My Local Bobby to provide 2 visible wardens on the street for 3 days a week. Look out for their high-vis vest! They can be called on to assist with shoplifting and ASB incidents. If you have any issues and would need support, they can be contacted while they are on patrol at 07494 777 055.

Your Acton BID has entered into a partnership with Vergo Pest Management (previously named Terminix) to provide a pest control service against mice & rats for BID members. As of August, Terminix have rebranded to Vergo Pest Management Ltd. Please note that nothing has changed in our partnership.

If you are interest in a FREE or DISCOUNTED pest control against mice & rats, you’ll benefit from:

• A highly experienced, knowledgeable well trained and motivated technician.
• A quick and FREE of charge response to call outs for mice and rats.
• Information and advice on how businesses can help themselves to prevent or reduce pest infestation.

The basic cost of this service is £172 per business per year – which is offered FREE through your Acton BID levy. Due to the different requirements needed for Acton Park and South Acton Industrial Estate, any pest control procured through the Terminix/Acton BID Partnership will include a 20% discount. If you are interested to take part in this scheme, please contact Natasha!

Have you applied for your street trading licence yet? Or is your licence expiring shortly, you need to renew it! Businesses wanting to add tables and chairs or a display on the footpath (even if it is private) need to apply for a street trading licence every year.

Visit street trading license for more information and to apply online. You will need:

• Street trading licence number (for renewals)
• When and where you want to trade
• Your company’s public liability insurance policy with cover of at least £5million
• Your company’s commercial waste transfer notes showing how you dispose of trade waste and recycling.
• A credit card or debit card for the application fee of £62 (not refundable)

Please note that current pavement licences issued under the Business and Planning Act 2020 will expire on September 30th, 2022. If you would like to continue street trading past September 30th, please apply for a new Tables and chairs licence using the council online application portal.

Your Acton BID is working with Aid Training to provide FREE accredited training courses for BID members in October 2022. The training are now available for accredited courses of Fire Marshall, Emergency First Aid, Health and Safety in the Workplace, Level 2 First Aid in Mental Health and Level 2 Food Hygiene. Are you a microbusiness located in Ealing? Ealing Council is launching Greener Horizons, a programme for up to 200 SMEs in the borough. They want to help businesses get on board with the climate agenda. The programme will provide access to a carbon reduction toolkit to help you understand your business’ current environmental performance and create an action plan, alongside bespoke professional advice to help you see your changes through.

To sign up, you’ll need to meet two criteria: have an annual turnover of under £100k per annum and employ less than 10 people. Register your interest at businessenergy@ealing.gov.uk.

High Street Spend data was gathered from Mastercard (does not include Visa or cash spending) to show how spending patterns have changed over time in the Your Acton BID boundary. The data is broken down into weekday and weekend spending habits for the month of July.

Your Acton BID and Acton Met Police have rolled out Operation Onyx, an initiative that highlights the awareness surrounding Personal Safety and Protection. Everyone deserves to feel safe in our town, but if you're ever feeling unease, we've got something for you. The initiative gives you access to a FREE personal safety alarm. No questions asked.
