As part of the Love Ealing, Love Local events, Ealing’s High Streets Task Force is hosting Hanwell Hootie, the renowned local music festival, on the Mount in Acton for a day of free performances. Taking place from 11 am on Saturday 9th October, the programme will showcase local, up-and-coming talent with the day aiming to bring the community together through the power of live music.

Ealing Council is bringing small businesses and sole traders in Ealing a free digital support programme. Ealing Trades Online in a free programme that helps local businesses to get their business online and thrive post-pandemic by receiving expert support. They can help you improve your online presence, build a website, grow your audience on social media, run a crowdfunding campaign and much more. Find out more and how to register!

We have been working with Place Support Partnership (PSP) by offering all businesses within the BID area free sessions with cost-saving experts. PSP help reduce business costs by reviewing your bills and identify where savings can be made. It is a free service to all Your Acton BID members.

Since July, they visited several businesses along the High Street, Churchfield Road, and the South Acton Industrial Estate where we were able to help save businesses a total of £49,875.

In the coming weeks, Your Acton BID will be working with local BID business Global Skills to provide accredited training courses for BID members. The type of training courses that would be available are Food Hygiene, Fire Marshall training, Health & Safety, Emergency First Aid and more. This business survey has been created to receive feedback from the Acton BID Levy Paying businesses from the South Acton Industrial Estate. We want to take this opportunity to ask you a few questions and what kind of projects or support you would like to receive from the Acton BID.

Universal Bikes is a new bike shop that has recently opened at 324 Uxbridge Road. They specialise in on-the-spot repairs as well as servicing for all makes and models of bicycles. They also fix electric scooters too! They sell second hand bikes, parts, and equipment. They even plan on stocking on new bicycle models soon. Did you catch all the fun we got up to during The Great Big Green Week? ⁠⁠Between 18th and 26th September, communities across the country joined together for the Great Big Green Week, to raise the profile of groups taking action on climate change.

During the week, Your Acton Bid team worked in partnership with Rewilding Acton, a volunteer group responsible to green our area with guerrilla gardening, do to some planting in our town centre. We are on a mission to beautify our town centre and make Acton more attractive. 

We worked with some AMAZING local volunteers to re-plant the bike planters in front of the Arch Climbing Wall at 20-24 High St and outside of the Acton Met Police Station. A massive thank you to all that came along to help out, it was a brilliant day!

High Street Spend data was gathered from Mastercard (does not include Visa or cash spending) to show how spending patterns have changed over time in the Your Acton BID boundary. The data is broken down into weekday and weekend spending habits for the month of August 2021, using 2018-19 as the baseline to examine recovery.

We have launched our fall street cleaning scheme at the end of September and have been busy these past few weeks cleaning our retail areas. 

We have been on the streets jet washing major stains across The Vale, Gunnersbury Lane, High Street as well as the Mount to continue to remove the accumulated grime. To keep our streets cleaner, we are also cleaning all the lamp columns throughout our retail streets, removing grime, flyposting and stickers. If you have any questions regarding the Street Cleaning Scheme, please contact Veronique.
